MHWC wrestlings had an outstanding state tournament this year. All of the MHWC coaches are extremely proud of these young men.
In no way do we wish to take the credit that belongs primarily to the young men listed below. We are just honored to be apart of their season in any way, big or small. These young men gave up a lot of their precious Sunday family and rest time for the chance to stand on the podium at the Pepsi Center. Most of them spent time after practice working on their skills and their strength. It was inspiring to see the dedication that some of these young men posess.
Part of being a great wrestler is having the opportunity to train with other great wrestlers. It is true that iron sharpens iron. The training environment at MHWC was second to no other room in the state this year. MHWC wrestlers were in the finals in 8 of the 14 weights this season with 11 finalists in all. Of those finalists 7 of them got their hands raised as State Champions. In all MHWC had 22 placers in 11 weights. The battles witnessed in the room on Sundays could take up several highlight films. It was phenomenal!
Here is a breakdown of all MHWC placers by classification and by weight. Click here for a list of all past MHWC wrestler accomplishments.
